Visit Beauvoir from Biloxi, Mississippi
  Beauvoir, Biloxi
Regarded by many as a Confederate shrine, Beauvoir was the final home of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America, and the South's only 'First Family'.

The exquisite Louisiana raised cottage-style residence was completed in 1851 and stands in a spectacular 52-acre (21-hectare) site overlooking the Gulf.

The complex includes: two museums, the Confederate Museum and the Davis Family Gallery; a Confederate cemetery containing the Tomb of the Unknown Confederate Soldier; and a series of nature trails through the lush gardens.

Day Trip Suggestion
From Beauvoir, head east on Beach Boulevard (Highway 90) to the superb 1848 lighthouse near the end of Interstate 10 before continuing on to the Maritime and Seafood Museum at Point Cadet, which traces the 300-year industrial and nautical history of Biloxi.

At East Beach, the Tullis-Toledano Manor, built in 1856, is one of the Gulf Coast's finest rare examples of antebellum architecture.
